Minister of Transport of the Slovak Republic

Ing. Pavol Lančarič, PhD . was born on May 31, 1963 in Bojnice. In the years 1981 – 1985, he completed his studies at the Business Faculty of the University of Economics in Bratislava, and in 1991 he also received a PhD degree there. 

After completing his studies, he worked at the Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic and was also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic. He later worked at Deloitte & touche as a Senior Consultant. 

He has worked in a management position since 1993, when he became the CEO of Tchibo Slovakia.
In 1995, he became the general director of the publishing house Rheinische Post Bratislava – Brno – Prague – Düsseldorf for Slovakia and the Czech Republic.  

In 1997, he joined Orange Slovakia (Globtel GSM at that time, later Globtel) as a sales director,
and from 1999 until 2019 he was the CEO of the largest Slovak mobile operator. Since 2001, he has been a member of the board of Orange Slovakia, from 2015 to 2019, he was also the chairman of the board.  

In the years 2019 to 2022, he was the chairman of the supervisory board of this company
and collaborated in the management of the activities of the Orange group for the European market. 

Pavol Lančarič was a member of the board of the IT Association of Slovakia. He was nominated
in the Manager of the Year 2005, 2006 and 2013 competition of the economic magazine Trend.
In 2010, he received the Crystal Wing award in the economy category for the successful management of the company during the economic crisis without impact on employment, customer satisfaction
and company shareholders. He left the position of CEO after 20 years in May 2019.
