
Vladimir Dlouhy is a graduate of the University of Economics and a postgraduate student of mathematical statistics and probability at Charles University. He also studied MBA at the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in 1978-79. A former Minister of Economy of the Czechoslovak Republic and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, he served as President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic from 2014 to 2023 and has been President of Eurochambres, the European Association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, since 2023. At the same time, he works for several foreign and Czech companies (Meridiam Infrastructure France, Medha Corporation India and others). He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Czech Technical University and member of the Trilateral Commission.
Previously, he worked for 25 years as an international advisor to the investment bank Goldman Sachs, from 1997-2011 he was also an advisor to ABB, and from 2013-2018 he worked for Rolls Royce. He served as an advisor to the IMF Executive Director from 2009-2013 and was also a member of several National Economic Councils of the Czech Government. He taught at Charles University in Prague for more than 20 years until 2022.
